Grassroots Partnerships Manager of Girl Rising
Prior to joining the Girl Rising team, Laura worked in the political and nonprofit sectors, most recently as an Assistant Finance Director for a New York City Council campaign. She is a recent graduate of NYU’s Robert F. Wagner Graduate School of Public Service, where she specialized in International Development.
Her Master’s work included conducting field research in Rwanda on existing and potential services for genocide survivors and victims of related sexual violence. Prior to her work in East Africa, Laura worked with a homelessness organization in London to pilot collaborative efforts in resource-sharing as a means to improving service delivery. Laura currently serves on the board of a local political group in New York, Democratic Leadership for the 21st Century (DL21C), and is acting Chair of their Women’s Issues Committee. She received her B.A. from New York University, where she majored in Comparative Politics. She joins the Girl Rising team with a longtime passion for improving the lives of women and girls around the world.
