Ariel Salleh is a sociologist in the Department of Political Economy at the University of Sydney (Australia). Formerly Associate Professor in Social Ecology at the University of Western Sydney, she has lectured in New York, Manila, Toronto and, most recently, was a Visiting Professor at Lund University (Sweden).

 

Ariel Salleh has published Ecofeminism as Politics (London/New York: Zed Books, 1997); Eco-Sufficiency & Global Justice (London/New York: Pluto Press, 2009); two journal special issues; and some 150 chapters and articles. She is currently a researcher in Political Economy at the University of Sydney, Australia. She has lectured at NYU; the Institute for Women’s Studies, Manila; York University, Toronto; and was Associate Professor in Social Ecology at University of Western Sydney for many years. In Spring 2011, she was a Visiting Professor in the graduate sustainability program at Lund University, Sweden. She is a member of several international journal editorial boards and former senior editor of the US eco-socialist quarterly Capitalism Nature Socialism. Salleh’s work is thoroughly transdisciplinary, linking sociology, politics, women’s, and environmental studies.
