May Shi Sho (Myanmar)


Dr. May Shi Sho graduated with a degree in medicine from the Institute of Medicine (2), Yangon in 1976 and was a general practitioner for the next 20 years.  In 1997, she transferred her considerable skills to the private sector, working in the pharmaceutical industry, until she was recruited by the Karen Development Network in 2005.  From her position as the Coordinator for the Community Management Programme, Dr. May Shi Sho has overseen the expansion of the program to 14 centres, with many alumni applying their management skills across a broad range of development initiatives.  Dr. May Shi Sho also works with Implementing Partners in the field to promote citizen empowerment and outreach and reconciliation to advance the cause of peace throughout local communities in post conflict areas.  She is also a member of the Women Can Do It (WCDI) and currently the Myanmar representative of the  Regional Steering Committee of ACSC/APF 2015.
