Maria Dolores Alicias currently works as an independent consultant to civil society groups in Southeast Asia and concurrently serves as the managing editor of the Asian Politics and Policy journal. She was the Coordinator of the Southeast Asian capacity-building programs of the Institute for Popular Democracy (IPD), a think tank that undertakes research, capacity building and advocacy on development and democracy, from 2003 to
2008. In 2009, she served as the Executive Director of the Asian Regional Exchange for New Alternatives (ARENA), a network of Asian progressive scholars, where she is now a fellow. Alicias is finishing her M.A. degree in Asian Studies at the University of the Philippines.
