Beijing Seminar of the Commemoration of the Tenth Anniversary of the PeaceWomen Across the Globe
To commemorate the tenth anniversary of the establishment of the PeaceWomen Across the Globe (PWAG) and to exchange and share the practical experience of more women and partners,we held Million PeaceWomen Partners Exchange Symposium on Little Donkey Farm in Beijing, on 13th, June,2015.
LAU Kin Chi, Board Member of PWAG and Coordinator of East Asia Office, introduced the network and development of PWAG since the activity 1000 Women for the Nobel Peace Prize 2005. Seven peacewomen, WANG Xuan, GUO Xinzhi, DONG Xiuyu, TAN Shen, XIE Lihua, XU Jiying and ZHANG Shuqin, respectively from Shanghai,Shanxi and Beijing,shared their experiences of the past ten years of unremitting efforts for peace in diffenent fields. ZHAO Ling, Coordinator of China office of PWAG, and staff CHEN Chen, introduced “Million PeaceWomen Plan” and it’s promotion work.The consultants WEN Tiejun, SUN Ge and DAI Jinhua, the partners JIAN Yi, Director of the 1000 Hours Film Projet: Stories of Birth, HUANG Zhiyou from Devotion to Homeland, YAN Xiaohui from the Little Donkey Farm”Local Academy”, two university teachers BING Huizhong and YAN Aibing shared and addressed the symposium separately. Besides, there were some other parterns from NGOs and related charity, education and art organizations in Beijing who attended the symposium. In the evening, Shang Xiuyun, peacewoman from Haidian District People’s Court, also called “Judge Mother”, and Tian Song from Beijing Normal University attended the dinner party. We were deeply moved by peacewomen’s spirits of overcoming numerous difficulties and adhering for decades as a day and gained the strength to keep going through the sincere sharing and communication.
