Lin Mei Yue (Taiwan)


Lin Mei Yue, Taiwanese, a former contact person of “Seven Fund for Agricultural Development Foundation”. After she had graduated from the secondary school, she has influenced by her sister classmates and started to study in some agriculture-related courses. She studied in Song-Shan High School of Agriculture and Industry and National Chia-Yi Institute of Agriculture. Finally, she graduated in the institute of department of Bio-industry Communication and Development of National Taiwan University. 
Thus, she started to work in NGO and Chi-Hsin Agricultural Development Foundation in order to promote organic agriculture. She also set up the business alliance of Yang-Ming-Shan organic agriculture” and the Grassy Park Organic Agriculture Promotion Centre to arrange some organic agriculture courses to the Yang-Ming-Shan farmers in pursuit of promoting organic agriculture to more farmers.

However, as she needs to take care of her children, she has no choice but to give up her job. Although she left her job, she is still doing promotion of organic agriculture through other methods. Not only planting the organic vegetables, but also talking with her friends about the future of organic agriculture. She even promotes the organic agriculture through her own blog, such as teaching others how to plant in organic ways. All of these actions totally show her responsibility and caring on organic agriculture.

In hopes of the improvement of the ecological balance in our world, organic agriculture is an important element to use it. Lin’s goals are having much more organic farming output, more farmers start to use organic farming, and thus organic agriculture can be popularize. Also, she hopes that there will be more consumers buying organic crops. From her life story, we can find that she puts a lot of effort on organic agriculture and her contribution on organic agriculture in Taiwan is absolutely indispensable.
