Wong Sui Chun (China, Hong Kong SAR)

Wong Sui Chun (Chun) is a security guard working in an old private housing located in Cheung Sha Wan. She have already work in here for 6 to 7 years since 2007. When she came from mainland China in previous year, she found difficult to found job in Hong Kong as her English level is not good enough to work as a clerk. So she chose to be a security guard because the test that she needed to pass was easy and the workload is lighter. She was once worked in a car park in Kwun Tong which was her first job as a security guard. She then quitted her job for one year in order to take care of her family. After some time, she applied for this job and she had work here until now.

Chun reflected that the facilities for security guard is relative enough with a toilet besides the room that she stay in. But the facilities for fire alarm may not be upgraded to the newest version as there is only one main alarm system to collect alarm data. It is more difficult for security to discover which floor is ringing alarm. She added that most of the latest estates have several collectors which may find out which floor is ringing alarm in a faster way.

Chun is a responsible person and she usually would not go out for lunch even though she is given a lunch break of 1 hour. She thinks that security should have certain level of responsibility. When she know that there are new security guards who only focus on their phone when working, she feel angry and tell the colleagues’ to be more concentrate toward on working.

She is smart and clever with a good relationship with everyone living or always come. Although she has consider to change her job, she enjoy the moments that she build-up relation with residents.
